I Love You Not

I love you, not
	Because you’re all everything
	But ‘cause you inspire me to be something 
 	I, without you, can never have a lot.

Love for me is not sweet
	If you don’t fill me with plain longing
	Though I know we’ll soon be meeting
	Love I can’t live without even for a minute.

You won’t need to be my soul mate
	Because you know by your true sharing
	Of ups and downs in living
	You and I are united in the same fate.

Not all your dreams though
	Are coming into this tough reality
	But I contently live those desires as destiny
	Not at all regret saying I always love you so.

Roxanne Dubarry September 23, 2024 at 2:04 PM I love you and I love you not, two conflicting emotions felt at the exact same time. There are certain things you love about your special someone but other things about your loved one-- you are not able to love.
