I Love You

I Love You, Pearl

I closed my eyes tight
Great darkness covered my sight
My heart wailed in fright

Loneliness clothed my being
I stood still searching
for the right girl, daydreaming

Then a bright light showed forth
A silent wind blew pass
The light entered my heart
and inscribed your name
as earlier whispered into my ears
by the gentle breeze

I opened my eyes wide
and lo! You were by my side
Your warm touch melted the lonely ice
My heart now cries
not with pain but with newfound joy

Pearl your name
from my heart I will never clean
You are the true love I've seen
Pearl, I love you
