I Love You
You asked if I loved you,
And it took me by surprise.
Surely you know the answer,
By the look in my eyes.
To me you’re more important,
Than the air that I breathe.
You’re everything I ever wanted,
And everything I’ll ever need.
Your smile lights my way,
Through the darkness of the night.
And just being with you,
Makes my spirits take flight.
But at times my mind becomes cloudy,
By the busyness of the day.
That I tend to lose focus,
In the worst kind of way.
But your love is always with me,
And you’re always on my mind.
A more devoted person to you,
Would truly be hard to find.
So carry this poem with you,
When my mind goes astray.
And remember that I love you,
More than words could ever say.
