I Look

I look for forgiveness as I learn to forgive
I look for my life as I learn to live
I look to myself in the mirror I shall see
What it shall take just to be me.

As the world just keeps on turning
I look for what I have been learning
It seems so much is buried below the surface
I look for my destiny along with my purpose.

I look for redemption maybe salvation too
I look a bit lost with the words I hear from you
I look for the answers when the question is asked
They dawn a disguise before me cloaked and masked.

I look for some love but seemed harder to get
I look down the path with no destination yet
I look to win big as I place my last bet
I look for peace and find it in the sunset.

I look for tomorrow to be better than today
I hope that my actions reflect what I say
I look for another path perhaps a better way
I drop to my knees and thank God for today.
