I lied and said I would clean

our daughter will be here for Father’s Day
I lied and said I would clean right away
My husband laughed because he knows me
I would rather fall out of a hundred- foot tree

Cleaning is not my thing; I am just saying
I am seventy-three, this is my time for playing
I worked until a year ago, retirement was overdue.
I am not about to waste time on crap that makes me blue.
