I Let It Slip Away

I let It slip away
And I felt It disappear
It left It’s home inside my chest
And slipped out through my ear.
I don’t know what It is
I don’t know where It goes
But I feel the loss the same
From my head and to my toes.
It’s a thing I took for granted
To have It resting by my heart
I wonder how It’s doing
Now that we are apart.
It’s left me feeling empty
It’s left me feeling blue
You should know that It is gone
It left the same as you.

Nicely done, the last couplet answers all the inquiries of the preceding. Thanks for entering the contest
