I Know Who Love Is
But what if I lied?
What if I tried,
But not hard enough?
I never thought that my heart was large enough,
....To love,
See, to me,
Love is a mutual thing,
You don't just love on your own,
You love from being loved.
It's never just a fling,
Just a thing,
That happened.
It's love!
And love will never leave.
Instead it has the power to lead,
Into what you believe,
It's so hard to keep it hid,
I know this,
Because I did, and
I think I lost the bid,
See at the time,
I was off the grid,
But then I realized I couldn't rid,
The thought of his grin,
His eyes,
His body,
His mind,
I was running out of time,
....For love.
Yeah, I know he knew,
It was as obvious as two left shoes,
But neither of us knew what to do,
With this love,
So we ignored it,
And avoided it,
I wish we would have done more with it,
But, we pretty much just threw it away.
So here I am today,
Without a solution,
In the prayers that I pray,
I ask for conclusions, and
Maybe this illusion won't alter my day,
So keep me in mind,
When you're taking your time,
Because time is a terrible thing to waist,
And while it's right there in front of you,
You will miss it,
I promise you...
Love has a very familiar face.
