I Know

When you feel like
all is lost,

you just can't carry
on

feel like giving up

and your
happiness is gone.

You have to pick
yourself back up,

and find your four
leaf clover

cause you have a
life to live

and no way is it
over.

It takes a lot of
time to heal,

for the wounds to
repair

but you still have
love to give

a precious gift to
share.

I know it will be
hard,

once that door has
closed

and to give all of
you again

just makes you
feel exposed.

Times will get
better,

though it may take
a while

just remember all
the good

that once made
you smile.

Though I lost my
Mom,

I'm still a Mother
and a Wife

and she would
want me to go on

and try to live my
life.

I know it's gonna
take a bit,

but I have help to
get me through

and I know she is
with me every day

like your family, is
with you.

I would definitely categorize this under LYRIC! It may bring a wider audience, A lot of times when I put a piece under rhyme or free verse, People won't even look at it! THIS....Needs to be looked at by as many people possible! ----I just reread both of these comments and I sound like a real jerk, telling you what to do! HEy, I mean well, and your poetry is quite nice!

JSL, I don't think you sound like a jerk at all. I am actually moved that you like this piece. When I actually wrote this, I thought about the things you told me and what had been going on in my life. So that is what prompted this piece. Take care my friend, Jess :)

Thank you, I have tried my hand at writing music before. I didn't do to horrible, but not good with music notes and stuff. I can't play an instrument, but Love to sing however, and dance. I think writing has always been my passion though. Glad you enjoyed this. Take care my friend, Jess:)
