I Know

I know your secrets
every hidden weakness
your worst fears
the worst years
the thoughts that
bring about tears

I know about the bad times
and the reasons that you
smile now
I've been there
through it all
I know about
the family fights
and the things that
just didn't fit right

I was the one who you
called when you cried
the one who would never
leave your side
how can we put all that
aside and now have hate
in our eyes?

It's unbelievable
she used to be
my best friend
and even if we never
speak again I could never
look at her any other way
than I do now.

because I know her
and I'll never forget
how she touched my
heart and showed me
how to let people in
