I Know

When you saw our situation
And counted your blessings
You recounted all your sins
That needed confessing
...I know

When you gathered in
The fruit from all your labor
You were never stingy
In taking care of your neighbor
...I know

When you sat in silence
And yearned for your friend
You sensed my presence
And laid down your life, in the end
...I know

When others relished in riches
And you sat without need
My peace comforted your soil
And nurtured your seed
...I know

When betrayal knocked at your door
And you stood your ground
You hungered and searched
And finally found

~Rest~

I KNOW
