I Kissed a Rose Today

Please note: To read this poem correctly, read verses 1,3 and 5 then verses 2,4 and 6. Verse 6 completes the poem. This is how the poem was inspired to be written.

I kissed a rose today
And breathed in its eternal scent.

I kissed God today
And breathed in His covenant.

I marvelled at its beauty,
Its pink petals soft to the touch.

His spirit went deep inside
To the well of my spirit and soul.

I thought of its creator
And how he made it whole.

I always feel close to God
When I kiss a rose and touch.

Hi Darlene, Thank you for your inspirational kind words; it's very touching that you now think the way you do about roses. I actually did kiss a rose and that's what inspired this poem. Edward
