I Keep You In My Heart

I Keep You in My Heart By Rick Rucker While we must, for now, live apart, I keep you first in my Heart, You have wrought a miraculous change in me, It is there for the World to see, Before we met, I was morose, Some might even say bellicose, You have let me see the Sun, When I’m with you, I have only fun! I often find myself singing, Frequently hear distant bells ringing, As we part, you think I say “Adieu,” But I am just practicing to say “I do!” Your Love has let me see the Light, Your memory gets me through the lonely night, The next time that we meet, Before I can kiss you, my sweet, That familiar burning sensation will start, The Heavenly fire that warms my Heart! I see you now, you walk with grace, As you near, a smile spreads across your face, Inches left before I can touch, The woman that I love so much, That final step seems to take forever, Soon, we will live together, then I will leave you never, For now, I will take any time that we can have, It is, for my wounded Heart, a salve! From me, my problems, you do lift, Perhaps that is your greatest gift, To let me see the beauty of this life, Why I have asked you to be my wife, Before we met, I crawled around in the muck, I met you by the most Blessed stroke of luck, My wretched life, you did transform, Now I want that to be the norm, I wish to live always in your presence, Drinking ever of your Essence! Do not attempt to trifle with Fate, Please live with me, and be my Mate!
