I Is Me

If I were granted a
fanciful notion
And could live this
life over again.
I'd be transfixed
with emotion:
Where to start,
where to end?

Would I choose a
different mother?
Would I opt to be
born a prince?
Might I wish my
father was another?
Endless choices make
me wince.

Thus with certitude
I've decided
It's best fate made
me who I'd be,
Lest my choices
prove misguided.
All is reason to
give thanks I is me.
