I Hope To Feel This Way Again Someday

I woke up and finally felt motivation from within.

What I didn’t know at the time, was that this feeling was sin.

And that I would be greatly punished for seeking relief.

To accept the happiness that would soon cause grief.

Soon, I would be forced to choose between the pain I had always known-

Or staying as a joyful zombie whose dreams are shown.

My first feelings of delight-

Would soon turn to nightmares of blight.

The butterflies that finally would abound-

Would transform into evil ravens that would surround.

I suppose I shall always remember-

Or perhaps I must surrender my memories like warmth in December.

Someday, I may feel this way again.

But for now I shall allow my scars to reappear, and allow that tender pain to appear again.
