I Hear the Voices In Your Head

You’re driven to do bad, bad
	real bad things
Chucky did it, you’d often say

You’re given to say bad, bad
	real bad things
You said it’s Rhoda who talks this way

You’ve been fibbing bad, bad
	real bad, boy
Ever since you said Jason bragged he killed your pa

You’ve been tripping bad, bad
	real bad, boy
Ever since you said Lizzie confessed she axed your ma

You got so many voices talking to you
Sometimes they’re talking at the same time
Each voice clamoring, trying to get through
But Dr. Lecter’s voice keeps them all in line

I hear the voices in your head
Because they’ve been talking to me too
I’m not listening to what Dr. Frankenstein just said
Because the voice in the mirror said I’m just like you

This is the poem that was the cause of me coming to Poetry Soup.
On another poetry website, when I posted this poem, they censured it,
and removed it. I was very upset about that. Someone no doubt was
offended and complained about the poem's subject matter content.
I kept my poems posted at the other website for the sake of the
other poets. Most of those poems have not been posted here at PSoup.
If you want to know where those poems are at, you can contact me
by soup mail. I would like to know what you think about this poem.
Love always, Romantic Warrior.

Really! A touch of greatness/Luv IT. Many people don't handle negative well. But in fact It's Here, it's REAL part of the sin nature composite. One can read, process, things in a healthy way? It's all about the Gates, Eye gate, Ear gate, Mouth gate. knowing of an evil or sin doesn't make you a evil incarnate or a sinner. If not acted on the knowledge, if anything a heed warning(warning comes before destruction) "There's praise in words and words in praise" Keep up the great works thanks -James

Hi Freddie, This write is powerful and well written. I like how you incorporated "all" those scary movie villians in this write . You know I'm not a big a fan scary movies but I'm a fan of you and your pen. I did not find this write offensive one bit. Excellent job my talented friend:-) Alexis

If consciousness is awakened by your words then its light will be a healing to mankind. The mirroring effect sometimes disturbs the postcard view. Otherwise, I see nothing wrong, Freddie...Have a nice day

I think it's a wonderful write, Freddie! (as I look nervously about.) Love how you'd added references, makes it even more scary.=/ At first I'd thought it was about the sub conscious versus the conscience, but I'm afraid Chucky hadn't either. Though he did have an interesting thatch of reddish hair, like, well...some secrets are safer not divulged? Love to you and all of yours! Mikki

Don't know why there would be objection. Seems pretty tame to me. Just movie references. I don't get it. Such is taste in poetry I suppose...

Ty, Charlie. They probably was spooked by the grisly movie scene referenced in the poem. But I made it a bit deeper than that. It is a psychological profile of an unsound mind. I'm glad you don't scare easily. I have a lot of real dark poems that I have never posted anywhere. But maybe I will post a couple here. Love always, bro.

I for one enjoyed this pen, especially the nod to Dr Lecter, but then again, I'm probably a weirdo, normal, just not average ;) xomo poet friend!

Ty, Maureen. I'm weird like that too. An oddball fella, w/way too much imagination time on my hands. Lol! Appreciate the loving comments. Love and smiles to you.
