I Have,I Had

I have lived upon this earth
now on fifty years,
I have smiled a ton of smiles
cried a million tears,

I have heard a life of tales be told
and told a few as well,
I only hope that my Good lord
leaves me a few more to tell,

There have been a few women in my life
the choice was mine to make,
a couple here, a couple there
took all there was to take,

I had a wife, for twelve long years
together we had a Son,
one fine day, she walked away
left her child to have her fun,

I have seen the Sun and Moon arise
to start and end the day,
and prayed to God, oh would you please
leave it just this way,

As I look back, on waning years
the past is done and gone,
what is,is is and was is was
and is your whole life long,

Yet one thing stays, your whole life through
will never go away,
the way you heart does feel
when you hear your children say....

I Love You Mom and Dad !

Beautiful Richard, your heart is in this one and the story is sad but inner strength seems to have hold of you.
