I Have Killed Them

There are no suns in my world

I have killed them

No rays of light, no dogma insight

I have killed those as well

I’ve embraced the night

Prettier than my sun, this glimmering starlight

And yes, I do sense the hypocrisy

In my core

Cathedral walls with bright stone

Stained glass and a golden cup

To atone for sins

Of humanity’s past, you see

There are no messiahs in my world

I've killed those as well

I had a home and a name

To inherit what is mine

A throne of the dead

And a crown too heavy for my light head

There are no suns, no light to be shed
