I Have Eaten of Love

Love set her table before me A tasty meal i presumed to be My heart salivated, anxious to taste loves delicacy, delicious I had heard it was I was yet to see if true or false Soup served with drink sweet aroma dancing in the air bright drink giving an inviting stare I tasted and lo! So sweet was the food and the drink was as good But behind the taste was more of fire than of salt the soup was pepper hot and the drink a flaming ginger and the meat scratching fingers My heart danced to the rhythm of pain tears flowed like rain Of which i drank for desert

Hi Sarpong, This is a very interesting poem. The last stanza has merit. The last line; "Of which I drank for desert", is both compelling and powerful. Nice structure and language usage here. Keep up the good work. Have a great day. Earl
