I Have a Reason

I have a reason to smile
And that’s what I’m going to do
My reason for gladness is constant
For all of my joy comes from You

I have a reason for singing
For You gave to me a new song
Thus I give You praise and thanksgiving
When things go quite well or go wrong

I have a reason for dancing
Though all that I’m feeling is pain
Thus I give You praise and thanksgiving
Your grace makes me dance through the rain

I have a reason for living
Though darkness may cover the earth
Yes, I have a reason for being
For You give me purpose and worth
