I Had Plans

I had plans

I planned to be normal,

A two up two down.

The occasional curry.

Night out on the town.

Was your life what you planned,

Or are you like me?

Fishing in waters

 Way out to sea.

You can fill in the blanks.

Of what’s appropriate for you.

Are you where you thought you’d be.

Or have you no clue?

I planned to be normal…

Alunamda, this poem delights me because the one thing I have resisted in every form, in every state, at every life's turn is to be normal. I have always been about being everything but that.
