I Had Forgotten

I had forgotten them -
all the little pieces,
all the little pieces from yesteryear.

Now they came flooding
as if I had broken a dam
and now they were free.

One by one,
they were there for my inspection,
s i l e n t l y.

You were in there, darling...
You were,
and your piece was dazzling, dear.
