I Got My Shot

I got my shot and now I’m not
Afraid of waiting for a slot
Like all of those who lost their spot
Since many sites have diddly-squat.

The current scene for the vaccine
Needs government to intervene
For hordes of people who convene
Join lines both long and serpentine.

It isn’t great that every state
Has rules that simply don’t equate
So many wait until the date
Their gov’s have shots to allocate.

It seems a crime that those who climb
To the tops of lists which make them prime
For vaccinations might, big-time,
Decline, their reasons lacking rhyme.

Thank you for the laugh and very valid comments. Instead of organising distribution, Hawai'i chooses to disburse like throwing darts against a wall with the hope one will stick to the target, except the wall dose not include people without access to cars, phones, or computers.

Well. Good for you. Thanks to Poetry Soup, ilene, you might say that your shot was 'heard around the world!' lol. ~ It's a small world, after all...

I got my first shot on Sat 16 Jan courtesy of the Vets Administration. Painless and so far no after effects. Second shot will be given on 6 Feb. Glad you got yours and you describe the system very well in your verse! I just pray that all who want the shot will be able to get it soon. Bob H
