I Go There
I go there sometimes to sit alone
And hang my feet over a stone
To hear the waters beating heart
And feel universal though alone
I go there when I am empty and in need
Of silence to grow in me like a seed
To see the veil of life like clouds depart
And let the doubt of love recede
I go there when I remember you
The rainbow we uttered to be true
And there by an older covenant tell
Old sorrows bring his mercies new
I go there sometimes to sit alone
And rest the tirednes in my longing bone
And watch the waters rise and swell
The way it was, and I hear you moan.
