I Get Knocked Down

I get knocked down. People do their best to make me look like a clown. Yet I don’t make a single sound. Because I know my way around. I hear what they say. Each and every day. But I don’t run away. At night I pray. I’m made out of steel. It’s hard to believe I’m for real. But yes I am the deal. No matter how they feel. Always go on fighting. Each new day is exciting. I try even harder. So I can make it through a little farther. And get a little smarter. I started out just a beginner. And came out the winner. An angel and a sinner. My fears get a little thinner. I am not giving up here. I’m not going to shed a tear. I’ll be full of cheer. Jumping from stone to stone. Fighting this world so alone. Coming home to you each night. Is the only thing that feels right. So no matter how hard they bite. You make me strong enough to stand up and fight. Even if I keep getting knocked down.
