I Gambled For Selfish Gains
I gambled for selfish gains,
God saw my sinful vanity:
He allowed me to do horrible things...
what pleased and thrilled me;
I mocked him for the strict rules
of discipline and morality,
but He didn't limit me to foresee
the impact of my disobedience,
and the consequences of my actions!
His sorrow all angels share yesterday:
why did I sin against you, Lord?
My rebellion was anger and frustration,
a fit of anger I couldn't justify;
I had no motivation to have faith restored;
living was folly, not harmony and devotion!
I gambled for selfish gains,
putting me first, neglecting others;
what a horrible price I have paid:
the loss of joy and the wrath of the Lord!
