I Fell Asleep

It was so pretty
The fresh countryside in bloom
The daffodils out

We drove in the sun
We stopped for some refreshment
We were having fun

On the way back home
Lulling vibrations caught me
I soon fell asleep

Just for a minute
I swear it was only that!
He thought I was rude

Taking advantage
The lemon cake and coffee
Now sour and luke warm

I am enjoying reading fresh poetry today. What a wonderful thing to do on this rainy day. I am so happy your poetry was among what I have read and enjoyed today Karen. Love, Carol
