'i Endured Hit After Hit'

I didn't throw the towel in, I decided not to quit

I kept fighting back, I endured hit after hit

I showed bravery, I showed courage, I also showed true grit

I was on my way to becoming mentally fit

I must build on this momentum, my work rate must not stop

I have an insatiable desire to succeed in life and my high standards must not drop

Why do i help people, I understand pain

I know that I don't want to go through that again

If you don't know me, my name is Liam Kennedy

I believe that my poetry is the remedy

A lot of thought goes into every single piece I write

Each word I choose to speak will offer hope and offer fight

If you are trapped in darkness, I can give you sight

Take my hand fellow warrior, let's now step into the light

No more running, you no longer have to hide

I can be your leader, I can also be your guide

Fall in love with life, it's a beautiful ride

For you to be a winner, summon the strength from deep inside

It's true I've struggled, it's true I fell

It's true that once or twice I've fought my way out of hell

My inner strength raised me higher, this ensured that I survived

I had to walk through fire for me to save my life

I've become unstoppable, I'm just like a machine

When helping people fight depression, I will always intervene

When I fight, it's domination

I offer hope to the mental health nation

The struggle was real, many tears where shed

Every single day I'd be at war inside my head

I defeated depression, for this i don't apologise

I finally realised that my life was the prize
