I Dream
I DREAM
Oh that I could dream a dream
Where you’re not haunting me.
Oh for just one restful night
When you’re not taunting me.
I tried so hard to move on,
When you told me we must part.
I tried to cast you from my mind.
But you’re still there in my heart.
I am fine in daylight hours;
You are hardly there at all.
But as the night approaches,
It is then that I recall.
Perhaps tonight will be the night
I finally break free.
Perhaps tonight I’ll have a dream
Where you’re not haunting me.
