I Don'T Want
I don’t want you walking
the shoreline of my life,
leaving bare footprints
in the sand.
I don’t want you touching
the landscape of my heart,
trekking the byways
of this land.
I don’t want you seeing
the seascapes of my dreams,
scanning the harbours
of my coast.
I don’t want you tasting
the whiskey of my streets,
haunting my fever
with your ghost.
I don’t want you painting
the colours of my nights,
brushing the canvas
of my days.
I don’t want your whispers
promises and vows,
I don’t want anything
that never stays.
