I Don'T Have To Go-----Winter

I don't have to go

I move ever so slow

winter is leaving

no tears I will show.

a few more snow flakes

I will throw around here and there

also a cold wind on some March days

just to show you I am winter!

and if I choose I will stay.

I don't have to go

maybe you will wake up

to find snow, just a dusting

laying upon your car,

I will sprinkle some snow across your fields

now would that not look pretty

laying underneath the night stars?

I don't have to go

don't rush me please

I know you want spring to begin

so you can start wearing short sleeves

oh my that sun feeling mighty hot

all of the ice is melting

now this must stop!

I don't have to go

please stop throwing your salt on

this nice frozen ground

you will miss the crackling of walking on ice

oh I do love that sound.

Remember I am winter and I will return

in about 6 months .

I will give summer a turn

but you will soon learn,

I don't have to to go. lol
