Notes About The Poem

I Do Is Not Forever

You say “I Do” with your one true love.
You swear that God sent him to you from above.
Years later he doesn’t want you anymore.
You are no longer his wife, or his lifelong amour.

Where did I go wrong…I loved him with all my soul.
He was the one person that made me feel whole.
Our lives are different now, and I am trying to move on.
I try to forget about the love that is now gone.

He wasn’t perfect by any means,
But unfortunately I still see him in my dreams.
I wish I wouldn’t dream of someone that doesn’t want me.
I want to let go of the past, and finally be free.
