I Dare

Daring to dream.
Daring to be greater than the ordinary I am.
Daring to step out of comfort just to discover who I am.
Daring to be more for He promised to make me the king I am.

I know that life doesn't mean suffering,
I know that black doesn't mean slavery,
I know that Kenya is never my boundary,
I know that Africa is not full of tribal rivalry.

Yet.. its hard to realize the potential we have,
hard to see that it starts from the heart,
hard to see that vanity will drag us back,
to the ground where all life lack.
Its hard to see...
That our destiny is within our reach,
Its hard to see...
That we can rise above all greed and build our bridge,
across ethnic borders and tribalism urge,
to the land of peace and no more grudge.

I know that Africa deserves plenty,
I know that Kenya can be a land of loyalty,
I know that black is just dark beauty,
I know that life is meant to be Godly.

And so I dream,
I dare to awaken the inner me and feel my heart beat,
I dare to cut through these blinders distracting me,
I dare to be who I was set out to be.
Me.

True. Very true. No trial given unto us is too hard to be conquered. We are all winners. Thank you for the comment, it is really uplifting.
