I Cried Today
I cried today
I cried a thousand tears
I’ve been falling for a thousand years
Tears drops flowing like the summer rain
But yet nothing
Nothing seems to take away my pain
Memories hidden in the corners of my mind
Deep within my heart I find
A dark and lonely place
With only haunting visions of your face
With every passing thought
With every battle that I’ve fought
My strength is slowly growing weak
It is becoming harder for me to speak
The mere mention of your name
Once again will cause me pain
All the happiness is gone
As I wake to face another dawn
Your smile shall always warm my heart
Keeping me safe within the dark
Your love gives me the will to fight another day
In hopes someday that I may
Hold you in my arms again
And we will be as we were then
But for now I shall struggle on
I will meet you in the skies beyond
