I Chose the Life That Was Chosen For Me

I chose the life that had been chosen for me so long ago by the powers that be I was aware I was different from others they only saw what they wanted to see First, there was fear that the world would ignore me I’d better hide so that love lets me in Then as I grew and I learned love’s true meaning I knew that lying’s not how to begin So I accepted the life that was given and I decided to find my own way I chose the life that had been chosen for me I chose myself and have been to this day

Good for you, Mike! Though I actually think we're all a bit 'different,' -- if we would just admit it. Even ants differ one from the other; all the more so do we. ~ At least a Picasso, if not a Rembrandt

Marvelous way of expressing everyone's right to be uniquely who they are. I loved this poem, Mike. It is going straight to my FAVES.
