I choose to not clean

I could clean the porch, but I choose to write.
You say, “you could sort a bed of junk.”
Are you picking a fight?

Sis says “think how good a clean house would make you feel.”
Listen I reply seriously, here is the deal.
As soon as I clean something, it gets messy right away.
I prefer to spend the rest of my life enjoying each day.

I worked at a job longer than any family members so far.
This is my relaxation time; and I have lowered the bar.
My children may burn this place down when I die.
I’ll not fill my time with chores that make me cry.
