I Cease

An ally, a kindred, so fragile, so fleeting
Who knew you'd just lie back and take such a beating
A momentary trance, I'm assuredly sane
Alas, its just dreams playing tricks again

Withdraw to familiar, solitary hibernation
Lick at the wounds, inevitable damnation
I can't do this to you, or to me, anymore
Abstain from the prospects that expose me raw
