I Can'T

I hear you in my dreams,
But when I look you're not there,
And when I wake to reality
I have to remember you're not coming back.

I can't forget you or us,
No matter how hard I've tried,
I've moved on but somehow
I still love you with every beat of my sickened heart.

I'll always be smiling,
But in the back of my mind,
I'll be wondering what went wrong,
Even though I know it was just a lie on your part.

But everything I said,
Everything I did wasn't a lie,
I was in love with you and always
Will be, but I have to go, I have someone else.

So stop pretending,
Stop holding my memories
Hostage, stop saying my name in
My dreams, and I'll stop haunting you for real...

a hold on your heart I see, it's always hard to let go but somehow we must let it be, nothings ever easy but those who write it make it a comfort to know nobody is alone when something is broken, enjoyed your write, ~always, p.d.
