I Can Still Feel You

I saw you there Then you were gone A brief glimpse into my past Reaching out for forgiveness But it wasn’t mine to give I saw you again But not for long The hands on the clock have long since stopped And a light shines in the darkness As dust dances into a stream of light Playing softly with the wind Then you slip quietly out of view. The day begins slowly Nothing ever stays the same But nothing changes Your shadow leaves before you But comes back for a last look Reaching into every corner Glass rainbows appear from the window Leaping in and out of view Like oil in pools of water Imploding in every direction I want to reach out to you But I know you have already gone. I saw you once again In a painting on a wall It never really changes Only fades away from view Like fragments of your life Torn to shreds and scattered To the corners of the room No-one to pick up the pieces I hear the sound of laughter Or is it the beginning of the day I try to catch the wind But it dances with someone new.
