I Can See For Miles
seeing you across
the dance room
floor watching
your mouth
moving to
a two
step
but
the
music
is too loud
so i sign but
you don't know
that language so i
try charades but can't
seem to make you
understand so
the thing is
now to
try is
me
be
ing
a mime
(as silent
movie
player
piano
plays
ragtime)
i fight
the non
existent wind
and find myself
trapped in a box but
these don't express to
you as to what i want so
YELL and the loud crowd dies
down to where my echo
resounds again and a
gain and gain an d
a ain until i'm in
contact exact
ly with
your
eyes as
i pinch my
nose with first
finger and thumb
dropping to the floor
as if i'm drowning
