I can finally breathe

my struggle is over
It didn't have the final say. 
I'm now able to freely 
step out on faith
the prison door I once stood behind 
has no more authority over my mind

I've been released 
I now have peace
I can finally breathe 
A freedom in Christ has come over me

the label of being a captive of my reality
is no longer how the world can identify me
chains removed, shackles now broken 
a freedom over me has now been spoken

I've been released 
I now have peace 
I can finally breathe 
a freedom in Christ has come over me

and like a phoenix rising up 
from the ashes of defeat
a new creation in Christ 
my transformation is complete
now fully armed with the Sword of the Spirit
infused with God 's power which has no limit

I've been released 
I now have peace 
I can finally breathe 
a freedom in Christ has come unto me 

now truly liberated 
living a life God created
unrestricted is my ability
to now breathe freely

my struggle didn't have the final say

living a life that's free
which God created for me

for a freedom in Christ was afforded to me 

truly liberated
godly recreated
I can finally breathe
for a freedom in Christ was released unto me
