Honesty Cross your heart and hope to die* Speak the truth and look directly into someone's eyes Then the world will know you are not lying * this was a phrase we used as children to say we were being truthful 11~20~14 Contest: Didactic Sponsor Regina Riddle ~awarded 5th place

Hi Jan, They say the eyes are the window to the soul. So true. Some windows need a little Windex to clear them up. This is a first for me. I just figured out how to rate a poem. I gave you the first 7 I have ever posted for anyone. (Simply because I didn't know how to do it and I would have done it sooner for you.) Let me know if it registered on your account. Take care. Earl

You can only see the rating on when you go to edit poems Earl you cant see who gave it but thank you i am honoured:-) I never rate less than a 7! It was 3 months before I rated a poem - think they should tell people about it when they sign up! Hugs Jan xxx

I try to look everyone I talk to in the eyes but sometimes with women no matter how hard I try my eyes have a mind of their own!

I remember the time a female friend of mine sat on Pinochio's face and yelled, "Lie to me! Lie to me!"

Lies are spoken by flattering lips and a double heart, with darting eyes falsehoods are spread . . . speaking truth takes courage and a steady gaze! What an awesome poem . . . my blue eyes are staring at you -- no lies.

Yes you can tell a lot about a person from the eyes - I love the song 'lying eyes' by The Eagles and was listening to this when I wrote the poem Hugs Jan xx
