I Become Darkness

We become darkness in the night
embraced by the emptiness of time
 escaping the sunlight
running from the dreams that are not real
 searching for the truths
  of life surreal.

We overlook the pleasures
 that overtake our heart's desires
trusting in the flow of life unmeasured
living, loving, struggling to see
 the promises once given
  to you, to me.

We are separate now
each one has gone their individual ways
lost to the memory of promise and vow
succumbing to desperate emptiness of therapeutic catharsis
at the midnight hour, lost to myself,
  I become darkness

Nice, However, I have a question. Do you become the darkness while running from the dreams or just sink into the deep dark pit of darkness that is sometimes welcome and comforting at the same time?
