I Am Whole

The wind blows its favourite song
Windows rattle like musical drums
I feel the hail, the ice so cold
Ripping at my heart with pain so familiar

It is the second time around he has pierced my heart
Twisted his knife savagely into my love
Feeling of death would be a blessing
Anything to make the pain disappear

He betrayed my trust and laughed at my foolishness
Did I not give my all?
Did I not love my best?
Did I not deserve to smile with sunshine?

I see a rainbow pushing through my pain
I smell the flowers, the grass, and new hope
I smile at wasted love with heartache's death
I tough the sun and know
That I am Whole
