I Am Told

I'm told not to speak, To bite my tongue. But are there laws against whispers, Where words of healing can run? I'm told not to visit, Nor make my face known. But are their rights against being, Where freedom is shown? I'm told not to work, Now my skills are suppressed. But are their restrictions against prowess, Where engaging can bless? I'm told I'm not Robert, A stranger unkown. But is there reason behind falsehood, Where deception is grown? I'm also told a lot of things, From people who care. From this I will listen, And with their lives I will share. Monday, October 4, 2021

there are many being told to be silent about many things today. It's the age of censorship. Probably you are not even talking about that but that is the things I see when I read a poem like this. I liked this, Robert. the ending is very sweet.
