I Am Through With Love

Tomorrow I will wake Without the knot And perpetual ache, I will tidy all the corners of my brain Littered With loves thoughts and name, And if love should shove me I will play dumb, I will say “I’m not from round here” Give him no directions home But send him round the houses And feel happy on my own. And if love should trip me I’ll stand steady and not fall, I will not take his number Or wait upon his call, I will not get sick with longing Or walk around on air And if love should ask for me I’ll say I am not there. I will change my name And if needs be, I will change my personality So that If love should Kiss me Or turn up with a bunch of reasons Why he missed me, I will nothing to keep them fresh in And I’ll give a good impression Of a woman scorned. If love should push me I will put up a good fight I will throw a million reasons Why he’s wrong, and I am right, And when the tug of love Is won, I’ll question everything I’ve done, And if love should touch me then In all my weary sleepy places After seeing all my faces, If love should touch me then I would be a fool To feel unmoved.
