I Am the One To Blame

Yes its true I hurt you
Yes its truly my fault
Its also true I love you
I also truly care

I believed you did not love me
I believed you did not care
And I see you can`t forgive me
And I see you can’t forget

You are not to blame
None of this is your fault
I am the one in shame
I’ve filled my wound with salt

As I sit and hurt from it
I do not wonder why
I do deserve every bit of it
Cause it was me that made you cry

Never blame yourself for that
Or even think you are bad
I am the one that left you flat
And then I made you sad

I will never expect forgiveness
Its not what I deserves
And I know its not my business
Cause I got my just desserts

Thank you for your friendship
And thank you for the time
Sorry about my penmanship
Cause it does not always rhyme

And most of all I’m sorry
For being so darn blind
I took all that love from you
It was not very kind

These words here I send you
Are from your bestest friend
Take care on your life’s journey
And the wounds that I cannot mend

Nicely written. It's so personal, now so public
