I Am Sick of Love

I am sick of love,
Of its fickle ways,
Of the pain and heartache,
And endless, sleepless days.

I'm tired of the tears,
And the endless sighs,
Of hoping and dreaming,
And all the lies.

I'm exhausted from trying,
To make it all work,
To fit all the pieces,
Like a complicated puzzle.

I'm worn out from giving,
And never receiving,
Of clinging to hope,
And forever believing.

I am sick of love,
And its endless games,
Of opening my heart,
Only to feel the flames.

So I'll close my heart,
And lock the door,
Till the day comes,
When I'm ready to love once more.
