I Am Only Myself
I am Only Myself
I am what I am.
I can make no pretense,
Of being anything else.
You must accept or shun me, as I am.
I am what I am.
Neither wise or simple,
Neither good or evil,
I am only myself.
I am what I am.
Though I sometimes cause tears,
I seek to gain wisdom,
From gazing at the stars.
I could be nothing else,
If I tried.
My character seeps through,
The thickest mask.
I sing no song
But my own.
Criticize if you wish.
I am only myself
I am what I am.
Look on me,
My soul is ever bare before you.
I am a Poet, I am only myself.
