I Am Old

Should I mind being old
Should I lie that I am old
Should I feel guilty that I am old
Should I hide because I am old
I am lucky that I am old
I am grateful that I am old
I won't lie that I am old
I feel proud that I am old
I AM OLD
WHY
Why if this *** woman
Writes a poem that contains the word OLD
Regarding a person who is OLD
Why is that degrading?
Or offensive in any way.
WHY
Why if I am a YOUNG woman
It is acceptable
Both are explanatory
Neither derogatory

Thank you for pointing this out Shirley. Shirley Hawkins October 24, 2021 at 12:44 AM Maybe it is because I am old fashioned in many ways, I find some changes so unnecessary, especially when there are a lot more important things to address in these trying times. Since when did twice become two times etc ....
