I Am Not One To Gossip
I am not one to gossip, she told me but ….
The clerks at Walgreens are crazy.
Shirley is living with two men and has a boyfriend.
Which one is that? I ask.
The one with the tattoo of ivy on her left cheek.
Her face? No.
She showed you?
Head nod.
She’ll show you too. Just ask.
The one named Mary is living in a shed.
She doesn’t have running water or a toilet.
Really? It is what she told me.
Is that the old lady?
No! She lives with a monkey who bosses her around.
I am glad she is not one to gossip. Aren’t you?
